About

Cairn is a daily contemplative practice built around a simple idea: attention changes us.

Each day begins with a symbol — a Beacon, Facet, or Midnight Line card — that serves as a prompt for reflection. You write what feels true, sit quietly with what you've discovered, and gradually build a record of your inner life.

The symbols don't provide answers or predict the future. They simply help bring experience into awareness. Over time, that practice of noticing becomes a practice of living more consciously.

The symbols are prompts, not predictions. Reflection creates awareness. Awareness creates the possibility of choice. The work isn't done by the cards — it's done by the attention you bring to them.

The author

Cairn was created by Dan McCarthy after decades of exploring reflection, symbolic practice, meditation, and the conditions that support lasting personal change. It is designed to be quiet, simple, and rewarding to return to — one card, one reflection, one day at a time.
